Scribbles and Rantings

We are all weird in a way.

Naturally, with that, I have concluded that we are drawn to what lies on the other side of the fence. Where the grass seems to be greener, where the water seems to be clearer, where the air seems to be a tad more fresher than wherever we stand.

The funny thing about us is when there is too much noise, too much sound, we crave for silence. Silence in which we hope would soothe us while the outside world is catastrophic.

But when the quiet comes in unwanted dimensions, sometimes we feel that the silence itself seems to speak just a little too loud. So much so, you start to feel that you could be listening or hearing white noise.

Inevitably, what we look for is always a means of escaping from reality. But, let me pounce on you with a question: What does escaping do for us? Does escaping seem like a fruitful and useful means of coping?

It dawns upon me that, we try to sell ourselves ideas of escapes. A means to an end. But in truth, we never really escape at all.

How much longer is another few months you say? Let's plan something so that we may look forward to a holiday, where we can rest and do nothing. But when the actual day comes, do we really sit down and do nothing? I shouldn't think so.

So my next question is, do we need to be rewired? Or is there something innately wrong with the way we are? What can we do to be a better person?

There is much in life other than just doing your job, because you have to. But there is more than finding a job in which you are passionate about, vs being passionate in life and letting it flow over into your job. Should we get involved with someone to make us happy? Or should you be happy with life and therefore because your life is happy, inevitably, you will be happy with or without someone too?

We need to be more aware of the multi-coloured elephant sitting in the room. Let's not try to hide any new skeletons in our closets (pretty sure there are some surprises there as well). Why bother to try to pretend that you are less or more than who you really are? I don't think, not even for a second, that we are undeserving of showing the world who we truly are.

I think we are all beautiful the way we are.
Yes, we may be slightly weird, maybe we are just wired that way.

But if we don't embrace who we are to begin with, then how can the world see you?
